With a little merengue in our hearts, we’ve expanded our repertoire of South American trips into Colombia with this escape that delivers bustling cities, lush landscapes, and a tropical island. When it comes to hotels, we’ve definitely dialed things up for this journey. These Colombia gay-welcoming hotels are chic, glamorous, and possibly fit for a future season of The White Lotus.
GHL Bioxury Hotel, Bogotรก
Our first stay is a unique hotel full of charm! Located in one of the best residential and social sectors of the city, the El Retiro neighborhood, the surrounding area features plenty of eclectic cuisine. Like its name, the hotel blends a lush biome with the comfort of 5-star luxury. The abundant greenery and hardwood accents of the lobby make it feel like you’ve entered the jungle!

Let’s talk amenities. Along with their modern design, rooms feature Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, a small desk, and an in-suite safe.

Las Islas Hotel, Isla Barรบ
We’re off to indulge in Colombia’s tropical side! Located on a private island in the Caribbean just outside of Cartagena, Las Islas Hotel is a total showstopper.

There’s a private beach right on your doorstep, a lush garden to roam, a year-round pool for serious lounging, and Treetop Bungalows with private Jacuzzi tubs perched high enough to hand you sweeping Caribbean views while you soak. Throw in a balcony, a cozy bathrobe, and blessed air-conditioning, and you’ve got a room you’ll be reluctant to leave.

The cherry on top is Isleta, the resort’s very own private island, just a 5-minute boat ride away and saved for guests in the know. Out here, the day is yours to fill or beautifully waste. Go swimming, try snorkeling, sign up for a scuba dive, or do the bare minimum and nap on the private beach until someone delivers a fruity umbrella cocktail.

Back at the resort, melt into the beachfront spa, steam yourself in the Turkish bath, soak up the sun terrace and solarium, and pop into the fitness center if guilt strikes. Dinner at the restaurant means romantic Caribbean, local, and international cooking, mornings mean a generous buffet breakfast, and the whole sun-soaked stay means re-energizing in the best possible way!
OSH Hotel Getsemanรญ, Cartagena
We love all the hotels on this tour but this one is especially radiant. Amenities include a restaurant, TWO pools (one on the first floor and one on the rooftop), a spacious terrace, and a rooftop bar & lounge.
Located just steps from the Walled City, the Historical Center, the Clock Tower, the Pegasus Pier, and the Plaza de la Trinidad, the hotel’s prime placement within the city makes it one of the most desirable spots to spend a few days.

This trip culminates in Medellรญn, AKA The City of Eternal Spring.
It’s Colombia’s second-largest metropolis; a major centre of art and culture in the Andes Mountains. You can enjoy dinner with a private chef, take a guided city walking tour, or go for an optional salsa dancing lesson with a gay instructor. But it may be worth joining us just for the accommodations.
Landmark Hotel, Medellรญn
Landmark Hotel features a refined, yet comfortable style. Located in Manila, a traditional, yet trendy neighborhood in El Poblado, the property features a rooftop bool, hot tub and fitness centre. There is also a tasty on-site cafe called Smash which combines international flavours with the best Colombia has to offer.
