The Philippinesโ€™ renowned coastlines and picture-perfect beaches are what dreams are made of.

With over 7,640 islands in the country’s makeup, many of them uninhabited, it can be tough to discern which ones stand out as the most gay-friendly islands of the bunch. Fortunately, weโ€™ve traveled across the archipelago and done the research to discover the most spectacular LGBTQ+ spots. Read on to learn about the 5 resorts and 1 castaway experience weโ€™ll be staying at on our Island-Hopping Adventure!

The Henry Hotel, Manila

Located on the island of Luzon, Manila is the nationโ€™s cultural capital, its second-largest city, and the starting point for our adventure! We chose The Henry Hotel for its hip, vintage vibe and its location in the heart of the city. The exterior and lobby exude a modern colonial style, making it one of those rare properties that seamlessly blends design elements from multiple eras.

The spacious rooms are decked out with hardwood floors and warm tones, providing guests a calming respite from the bustling city.

Loboc River Resort, Bohol Island

The rolling Chocolate Hills of Bohol might be the star attraction, but the true mystique lies within our riverside resort. This sprawling property, built in harmony with nature, boasts top-tier amenities amidst an environmental sanctuary.

Explore the resort using its network of wooden paths and bridges that lead from the guestrooms to the Jungle Pool, the Infinity Pool, the riverside restaurant, Zen Island (for yoga and fishing), and Monkey Island (for wildlife viewing).

Each Native River View room comes with a balcony, hardwood floors, air conditioning, and that coveted river view.

Maremegmeg Beach Club, El Nido (Palawan Island)

Located on Palawan, one of the Philippinesโ€™ most gay-friendly islands, Maremegmeg cranks up the swankiness by nestling contemporary island design into a pristine paradise. The rooms are sizable and well-equipped, with neutral tones, a balcony, and seating area. The upscale bathrooms are also a pleasant surprise.

Grab a bite in the restaurant before ordering a libation to the terrace or the infinity pool. Or wander down to the beach for a sandy stroll set to the sounds of crashing waves. This beach club delivers total serenity along with some of the most gorgeous sunsets youโ€™ll ever see!

Island Castaway Experience, Ginto Island

Channel your inner Anne Heche (or Harrison Ford) from โ€œ6 Days 7 Nightsโ€ and discover an island so remote that it doesnโ€™t even have a hotel. Here, weโ€™ll sleep in mesh tents underneath the stars for a truly unique, off-the-grid camping experience. As an uninhabited utopia, the presence of our LGBTQ+ group will instantly transform Ginto into a gay-friendly island!

Other than the permanent huts that offer protection from the sun (and any rain), this island is entirely untouched!

Our friendly boat crew will ensure we have plenty to eat and drink during our stay, and thereโ€™s a clean, manual-flush toilet available. Relax in a hammock, take a dip in the crystal-blue waters, or wander the beach in search of coconuts. It doesnโ€™t get more private and secluded than this!

Cauayan Island Resort, Cauayan Island

After our minimalist retreat on Ginto, weโ€™ve lined up the crรฉme de la crรฉme of resorts for our next stop! Cauayan Island is absolutely magnificent, and the Cauayan Resort is hands down one of the most fabulous properties in the Philippines.

Each Villa comes with all the amenities of a hotel, plus an outdoor shower and a wooden terrace with a lounge bed.

This resort is simply stunning! Marvel at the grandeur of the surroundings by walking the wooden pathways that wrap around the bay.

Snag a spa appointment for a massage, or grab a spot in the chic bar and lounge.

Go snorkeling or paddle boarding in the ocean, rejuvenate in the infinity pool, or make a reservation for beachside dining. This place really does have everything!

COAST, Boracay Island

If youโ€™re looking for gay-friendly islands, look no further than Boracay Island – the gayest island in the Philippines! And weโ€™ve saved the best for last, as Boracay is also one of the most beautiful islands in the entire nation.

COAST is a beachfront property that offers the quintessential white-washed vibe synonymous with tropical havens. Think laid-back and luxe, or airy and alluring. The guest rooms feature a contemporary design and colors that pop.

The resort surrounds a refreshing pool which features plush, covered cabanas perfect for curling up in. Thereโ€™s also a cafe and a store in case various sundries are needed.

The Philippines features a plethora of sun-kissed and gay-friendly islands!
