Welcome aboard The Zafiro!

The Peruvian Amazon has been one of our most popular destinations since our inception in 2009, and for 2026, we’re spicing up the sojourn with an all-new gay cruise through the heart of the rainforest! After a night in Lima, we’ll board The Zafiro for 4 nights, followed by another 5 nights in The Peruvian Andes and The Sacred Valley. There, we’ll visit another bucket list destination in the Land of the Incas: Machu Picchu. The itinerary may be exhilarating, but we won’t be exhausted because we’ve arranged stellar accommodations the whole way…however, it’s the sexy little riverboat that’ll be the true highlight of the journey.

Built in 2015, the ship’s design harkens back to the earliest Amazon river vessels while incorporating modern amenities.

Public Spaces

The Outdoor Lounge includes a roomy hot tub, tables and chairs, and a few sun loungers to catch some rays. The hot tub is an especially nice touch rarely seen on smaller boats, with plenty of space all around to chill out or partake in some lively banter with friends.

The Indoor Lounge includes a second bar, along with plenty of space to gather with friends or curl up with a book. Large glass walls fill the space with light and offer unencumbered views of the Amazon shores.

The Dining Room is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style. The vibe is comfortable, and the food is the star of the show. Many don’t realize that when it comes to fine dining, Peru really punches above its weight. Think local ingredients, innovative recipes, and impeccable wine matches. Bon appetite!

Health & Wellness

To keep your mind and body in top form, there’s a small gym with essential equipment, along with a massage room where you can treat yourself after an excursion.

The Cabins

We are not exaggerating when we say these are among the nicest cabins of any ship we’ve ever sailed. Every last cabin aboard The Zafiro is generously sized with large windows, safety deposit boxes, well-stocked mini fridges and a writing desk to journal or whip off some postcards. All rooms come with either two twins or a California king bed, so your stay is sure to be relaxing and comfortable.

The Zafiro Suite awaits on the bow of the upper deck, and features a curved window wall with an unobstructed 180° view (and its own private balcony). The bathroom is wonderfully appointed with a vanity and shower. But the pièce de résistance may be the freestanding tub in the main cabin that’s big enough for two – if you’re an exhibitionist you can treat the caimans, capybaras, and anacondas to a show! There’s also a spacious sitting area with sofa, complemented by a wet bar and mini-fridge.

The Master Suites, of which there are only two, also feature a curved floor-to-ceiling window wall with 90° panoramic views, California king beds, pure cotton linens and latex pillows. The private bathrooms include cotton bathrobes and a Spanish style shower.

The Upper Deck Suites lend an elevated view of the Amazon through their window walls, but you can also step onto your generously-sized private balcony to feel even closer to the jungle.

The Lower Deck Suites are spacious and elegant, with a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling window. No other room brings you closer to the action as you’re at eye level with the river’s shores. If you’re traveling with friends or family, some of these cabins are inter-connectable.

Deck Plan

For the land portion of our Peruvian adventure, we’ve hand-picked some of our favorite hotels from over 15 years of visits. Check out where we’ll be checking into!

Manto Hotel, Lima

Located in the heart of Lima’s entertainment district San Isidro, this posh hotel will charm you with its boutique elegance. Mingle with fellow travellers in the picturesque lobby bar over a Piranha Bite – a fruity libation that’s sure to lift your spirits!

Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, Ollantaytambo

We’ll spend two nights in the Sacred Valley wallowing in this hotel. The only thing more impressive than its interior is the mesmerizing mountain views. Can-do service standards and a fantastic restaurant cap off this world-class experience.

Casa del Sol, Aguas Calientes

For our one night in the closest town to Machu Picchu, we’ve selected a riverside caravansary that blends unique Andean décor with the soothing sounds of a nearby stream. Each guest room features polished hardwood floors, eco-friendly bath products, and serene river views.

Casa Andina Premium Hotel, Cusco

This charming property is located in a converted 17th-century house and boasts an adorable colonial courtyard. Refined and relaxing, this 5-star experience makes a perfect ending to our Peruvian adventure!

Stop into the Alma Restaurant & Bar to uncork a fine Peruvian vintage or indulge in Latin American fusion dishes.
