Meet Rob, Your Out Adventures Host!

All Out Adventures tours are led by an experienced local guide. Many tours are also led by an official Out Adventures Host, a core team member, who handles the details and ensures a top-tier experience for each and every guest. We sat down with Host (and owner/co-founder) Robert Sharp to get to know more about him, why he loves travelling, and his favorite part of being an Out Adventures host! Good afternoon! Can you introduce yourself for the viewers?

My name is Robert Sharp and I am the owner and co-founder of Out Adventures.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a prairies boy, born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. In Canada, of course. I love the outdoors, I love hiking, I love food, I love culture, and my favorite thing about travelling is it removes bias. It gives you the opportunity to learn something new. To understand something you don’t understand. To open your mind, and to just genuinely be a better human.

What stands out to you as something special about Out Adventures tours?

I think one of the most special things about Out Adventures tours is the camaraderie that develops on a trip. Seeing people who don’t know each other on Day 1 sit down at a group dinner, everybody’s just kind of feeling the situation out, but by the end of the trip, we’ve all become a family. It really happens, and seeing them connect in person, seeing them travel together and meet each other in other cities after they’ve met on an Out Adventures trip, it really is something special and it defines what we do here at Out Adventures.

What is your favorite part of being an Out Adventures Host?

My favorite part of being an Out Adventures Host is seeing people exploring the world together, learning new cultures, trying new foods…You could travel with anyone, but by travelling with Out Adventures, you know you’re in a safe environment. You can be who you are. And on the trip, we handle all the details and you just get to enjoy your vacation!

What is one thing you would want guests to know about you?

What is the one thing I want guests to know about me? I love the details, and I will do whatever I need to so that everyone on my trips has the best holiday possible!
