We sat down with Host Frano Novljan to get to know more about him, his top spots to travel to, one of his favorite memories from leading our tours, and why he prefers small ship gay cruises! Good afternoon! Can you introduce yourself for the viewers?

My name is Frano and I’m an Out Adventures host.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you love about hosting tours?

I come from a small but beautiful country called Croatia in Europe, and I’m currently based in Zagreb, the capital. I love to travel and I like to discover new cultures. I’m a people person, I love to hang out with people, and Out Adventures offers me both. So my lifelong dream to travel the world has finally come true!

What do you think makes Out Adventures tours unique?

What makes Out Adventures unique is that Out Adventures tailors the tours to fit everybody. You will see a lot of beautiful places, you will eat delicious food, and you will meet people who will maybe become your friends for a lifetime. This is what being a host is all about, bringing everybody together.

What is your favorite thing that has happened on an Out Adventures tour?

My favorite thing that happened to me on an Out Adventures tour, I would have to say is going up to Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence and enjoying the beautiful sunset view from up there. You have a feeling that the whole city of Florence is in the palm of your hands. It’s so beautiful, you become emotional and you can barely hide tears.

Besides Florence, what stands out for me would of course be the Piemonte region, Monferrato. The accommodation there is beautiful. I would say truffle hunting and wine tasting in the Piemonte region is something that I’m always looking forward to.

What do you enjoy most about the Croatia cruise that you host every year?

My favorite thing on the Out Adventures cruise in Croatia would definitely be an island called Korčula. Yes, Split is beautiful because it’s unique. It’s the only place in the world where people actually live within the walls of an ancient Roman Diocletian palace. Dubrovnik became famous with Game Of Thrones. That was something that skyrocketed the place. But my personal highlight is the island of Korčula where allegedly Marco Polo was born. But the island itself is beautiful. The old town is so small and I’m always looking forward to coming back to Korčula because it’s such a unique place.

What do you think are the benefits of small ship gay cruises?

The benefits of small ship gay cruises are that you kind of feel like a big family. On top of that, it feels like you’re on your own private superyacht. We do swim stops. We eat together. We share stories. So even though it’s a bigger group, it’s not a big boat, so it all feels kind of private.
