Itinerary
Day 1 Hong Kong
Welcome to Hong Kong! Upon arrival, you may notice a skyscraper or two, as nearly eight thousand of them create a seemingly infinite skyline. In fact, it has the most skyscrapers of any city in the world.
Barring any delays, our flight will arrive in time for an included Dim Sum lunch! If youโve never had Dim Sum, youโre in for a treat. This traditional Chinese meal is made up of small plates of dumplings, pork buns, rice balls, and other snack dishes, and is usually accompanied by tea. Think of it like the Chinese version of Spanish tapas.
With bellies full, weโll set out to discover some of the top spots in this massive metropolis. Weโll begin by indulging in one of its best views at Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island! Once weโve crossed the harbor, weโll ride a train up the steep hill to a scenic vantage point overlooking the unending sprawl of the city below.
Afterwards, weโll head down the hill to the Central District and its famous Central-Mid-Levels Escalator, the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. Aside from being an attraction on its own, the system is lined with cafรฉs, bars, and shops that will be eager to welcome us.
Tonight, weโll enjoy an included dinner before finding the perfect spot along the waterfront to take in A Symphony Of Lights, the world’s largest permanent light and sound show that transforms the harbor into a dazzling spectacle on a nightly basis.
Day 2 Hong Kong
Today begins with an included breakfast before we head to Lantau Island, the largest island in Hong Kong. Chock full of mountainous terrain and indigenous forests, this island is the polar opposite of downtown Hong Kong and makes for a welcome respite from the cityโs hustle and bustle.
Our first stop will be the Tian Tan Buddha statue (a.k.a. The Big Buddha), perched atop the islandโs rolling hills. Completed in 1993, the bronze giant sits at the summit of 268 stone steps, rewarding those who reach the top with a scenic view.
The Big Buddha is an extension of the nearby Po Lin Monastery, which weโll also visit! Founded in 1906, the temple houses three bronze statues of the Buddha that signify his past, present, and future lives.
After an included lunch, weโll return to downtown Hong Kong to explore the colorful Wong Tai Sin Temple dedicated to the Taoist deity known as the โGreat Immortal Wong.โ
Later, weโll head to the Mong Kok area to dabble in its busy markets. Though theyโre chaotic, thatโs part of the charm, and weโll do our best to stick together while we make our way through the maze of stalls.
This evening, weโll gather for our final included dinner before having the rest of the night at our leisure.
Day 3 Hong Kong/Departure
After an included breakfast, weโll enjoy a complimentary transfer to the airport. Safe travels home! Or you may extend your stay, as thereโs plenty more to see and do in this world-class city.
